Dear Visitor,
I'm reaching out to you with a passion for making a tangible difference in the lives of young people. From my roots as a dedicated school-based social worker here in Northern Ireland to my time as the Director of a summer programme for children and adults with disabilities in New York, USA, I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact of personalised care.
That's why I founded Sloan Social Work Consultancy—to bring that same dedication and expertise to every aspect of our work. With school social work emerging as a new frontier in Ireland, we offer a unique blend of practical experience as a school-based social worker, alongside cutting-edge research insights gained through my ongoing Ph.D. studies.
Our consultancy services are designed to provide comprehensive support for this evolving field. From one-on-one mentoring for professionals in safeguarding and child protection to training in neurodiversity and behaviour management, we're committed to empowering both educators and social workers to navigate the complexities of supporting young people in their educational journey.
My firsthand experience as a school-based social worker, coupled with my ongoing pursuit of a Ph.D. focused on researching social workers in schools, uniquely positions me to offer unparalleled supervision services to school social workers and their teaching counterparts responsible for child protection and safeguarding. Combining practical insights gained from navigating the complexities of educational environments with cutting-edge research findings, I bring a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities inherent in supporting young people. This dual perspective ensures that my supervision approach is not only informed by real-world experience but also grounded in evidence-based practices, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness and impact of our collaborative efforts in nurturing the well-being of students.
With experience presenting at prestigious conferences such as the International Federation of Social Work European Conference, Northern Ireland Social Work and Social Care Research Conference and the upcoming European Social Work Research Conference 2024 in Lithuania, we bring a global understanding of best practices to our work here in Ireland.
